Description
Ever wondered what running at 150mph feels like? FOTONICA is a first-person game about the thrill of speed and traveling flawlessly through complex environments. FOTONICA is simple, but is not easy: it follows a tradition of arcade games that are easy to pick up and almost impossible to master. A multi-layered level design across eight different tracks, together with a procedural endless mode make for a game that is incredibly deep. Think you can outrun your friends? Try the split-screen versus challenges. The visuals are a treat for the nostalgic player but also for those hungry for new aesthetics. Every pixel is drawn to convey the maximum sense of speed, an exhilarating journey through light and void.
History
FOTONICA is one of the first one button “FPS Runner” of its kind. Originally released for PC and MAC in 2011, was successfully Greenlit to its best version yet. The project was selected for it’s hypnotizing vector graphics and minimal soundtrack at the 54^ Venice Art Biennale in 2011, and many other exhibitions and events during the years (Fantastic Arcade, BYOB, Delta, ecc). It now features a new difficulty setting, new arcade levels and endless stages, a broader soundtrack and a richer graphical style, as well as the new 4P multiplayer split-screen mode.

About Santa Ragione
Boilerplate
Santa Ragione is an Italian game design studio founded by Pietro Righi Riva and Nicolò Tedeschi in 2010, creators of FOTONICA, MirrorMoon EP, Wheels of Aurelia, and Saturnalia. Santa Ragione’s games focus on achieving a visceral response from the player, whether through the desolate landscapes of MirrorMoon EP, the uncompromising, vertigo-inducing speeds of FOTONICA, the controversial politics in Wheels of Aurelia, or the claustrophobic, ever-changing scenographies of Saturnalia. The studio has a unique, experimental approach to accessibility that encourages exploration and personal interpretation, to achieve depth. Santa Ragione's ambitions are to influence game design through new genres and to continue the tradition of Italian design.
